Our journey to healing and leadership
Discover the heart behind Letters To My Father, our mission to support men in their healing journey, and our commitment to building stronger families and communities in Maryland and beyond.

The inspiration behind our work
My name is Thomas Turner, and I am the CEO and Founder of Letters To My Father. This program began from a place of profound brokenness that demanded healing. I carried the weight of abuse, both mental and physical, feelings of abandonment, and the deep ache of being unloved. As I embarked on my own healing journey, I quickly realized I was not alone. Far too many men never address the wounds inflicted during childhood; instead, they simply apply a temporary bandage and move forward. They rarely seek the comprehensive help needed for true, lasting healing.
This is precisely why Letters To My Father exists. We are here to help men heal those deep wounds so they can become the best fathers, leaders, and role models they are meant to be. Our work is a testament to the power of confronting the past to build a healthier future.

Our core mission and goals
Our primary goal at Letters To My Father is to empower men to heal, enabling them to lead their families and communities towards collective well-being. We create a safe and supportive space for men to express the hurt, anger, shame, guilt, or any other emotions they have suppressed since childhood.
By addressing these deeply rooted feelings, we help men break free from past traumas and cultivate emotional intelligence. We believe that when men heal, they become more present, compassionate, and effective leaders within their homes and communities, fostering environments of understanding and growth.

Who we serve
Letters To My Father is dedicated to serving men from all walks of life. Our programs are designed for fathers impacted by incarceration, those in addiction recovery, individuals navigating broken family systems, and men grappling with generational trauma.
We work with fathers, expecting fathers, father figures, and all men who aspire to become fathers or improve their leadership roles. Our inclusive approach ensures that every man has the opportunity to heal, grow, and build the foundation for strong family and community connections.

Our unique approach to healing
Many fatherhood programs primarily focus on practical parenting skills. While these skills are valuable, Letters To My Father takes a distinctive approach by concentrating on the root issues that truly impact a man's ability to thrive. We delve into unhealed trauma and identity wounds that often dictate how men show up as fathers, partners, and leaders.
By addressing these underlying emotional and psychological barriers, we empower men to achieve deeper, more sustainable healing. This foundation allows them to develop authentic parenting skills and leadership qualities from a place of wholeness, rather than simply coping with surface-level issues.
"Letters To My Father provided the space I needed to confront my past and truly heal. I'm a better father and man today."
